Explore Twenty-Nine Latest Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Including a Commander Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The popular trading card game's company, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key background. Everything listed below releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before diving into the many special decks and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a few shell-shocking features. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu, where gamers can play powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the mechanic a little (Sneak is treated as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions moving forward.

“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that's where it originated and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer stated. “However on other planes, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards outside of your main deck, many players were. Yet as per the developers, it’s now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer says. “We designed to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the components for a fun Standard deck,” he added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it includes six different legendary cards who could work as your Commander based on how you pair them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area instead of only one). Check them out for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Sources indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles version of Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promotional card
  • One Large life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card with brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos in total.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
  • One Premium Booster (also known as, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Regular basic lands (for building your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products specifically for beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
