Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, the gifted cast also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself received Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved seven awards during the event.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only four categories—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by reviewers.
